About Jessica
Jessica Iovine, AMFT, is an associate marriage and family therapist and psychotherapist in practice in Los Angeles. She has dual masters’ degrees in Psychology and in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University and is pursuing a Ph.D. in Depth Psychology with a specialization in Integrative Therapy and Healing Practices from Pacifica University. Her approach to working with clients is simultaneously philosophical and progressive, with a foundation deeply rooted in traditional practices that’s made modern by an interest in cultivating connectedness with the soul. She believes that personal agency comes from a commitment to fostering curiosity, creativity, and consciousness and that finding balance is critical to finding fulfillment. She coined the phrase Soft Work™ to encourage her clients—most of whom have been raised in a culture that tells them they can, and should, have it all—to pursue balance in all aspects of their lives, including career, family life, and their relationships with others and with themselves. Soft Work™ is not a case against hard work; instead, it is a complementary component of living that focuses on the importance of rest, intuition, harmony, and receptivity.
As part of a large, blended family filled with unique personalities—with lots of strong, and often differing, opinions—Jessica Iovine learned the value of conflict and how to approach it in a loving, safe, curious way; as a marriage and family therapist, and particularly in her work with blended families, she draws from this background to help clients manage, and ultimately appreciate, the delicate dynamics often inherent in those relationships. There is great opportunity for couples and individuals to redefine the family unit without losing sight of themselves and seek to create a life that feels empowering, nourishing, and, ultimately, joyous.
